Have you ever experienced having your brick and mortar business fail? I have, and it was not a pleasant experience, to say the least. The losses it brought me were painful and they were a huge factor for me to decide that I was going to start online marketing. The internet offers the most attractive risk versus reward equation you could ever find.
To make my point clearer, take a look at this:
We began CactusCanyon.com for only $3.95 for a monthly hosting package, and $9.95 for a yearly domain name. $200 was the wholesale price for the first case of products we bought, and we had made our first sale within a few weeks after this new website. We only purchased one case at a time for the following weeks. I was determined not to over extend my self, my assets and my business as I had done before with my brick and mortar business. Soon we were able to buy 2 cases at a time, and the number slowly kept growing, and growing, and growing.
My marketing was 99% SEO, so there were virtually no marketing costs. Google loved the site, and we, in turn, loved Google. We have also managed to learn a lot in a short period of time about credit cards, shopping carts, shipping, and many other necessary know-how. It definitely was, and still is, a fun ride. After two years of running the business in the evenings, and on weekends, my wife decided to quit her job. The next year, I quit mine and we started Weber Internet Marketing.
If you have a better risk vs. reward example, let me know. I am currently having the time of my life and would love to have you on board.
How Big Is Your Dream?
In my line of work, I have dealt with a lot of new internet marketers who have not yet succeeded in making money online. These people are my target audience and I have learned much about them, through experience, throughout the years. I have also seen many beginners progress and become successful online.
Unfortunately, there are a larger percentage of novice internet marketers that do not succeed; and blame their failures on a lot of different things.
Excuses I have heard from beginners:
They didn't have enough brains.
They didn't have ample time.
Their partners and spouses did not support them.
They couldn't afford a web editor or hosting.
The niche they chose was wrong.
Their computer is not fast enough.
No one would support them.
They started Internet marketing too late.
Their country does not support PayPal
...and even their stars were not aligned correctly!
Yes, I have heard it all.
But those are plain excuses, and I have always believed that people who are full of excuses lack a big enough dream. No matter what you are getting yourself in to, you need to have a big enough dream to beat down every excuse you have.
If your dream is big enough, every single excuse just disappears. The dream needs to be so huge that you feel it; you taste it; and you live it everyday. People who succeed always have their dreams on their minds. However, it is easy to get overwhelmed by the size of your dream, and all there is to learn and know about the venture of your choice. And that is where I can help.
Internet marketing is not paint-by-numbers, however, much like connecting-the dots, it requires you to combine certain skills, principles and knowledge to create a profitable business. I still remember the difficulty I had, trying to go through this process, when I was still starting out with internet marketing. But, all you need right now is for someone to show you a clear path.
If I had only been able to ask somebody who was experienced and learned about internet marketing, when I was starting out in this field, I would have eliminated a lot of dead-ends I eventually hit. With my business, I combine my passion for online marketing and my love for teaching others. My goal is for you, novice internet marketers, to enjoy and achieve the level of success I have managed to.
